Mandy began her cheerleading career in 8th grade in Allen, Texas. She went on to be the captain of her varsity cheerleading team as well as competing at a highly ranked all-star gym. She was on the first ever team to ever win at the USASF Cheerleading World’s in 2004. She also spent her high school years as an athlete for Pro X, a professional cheerleading company. The end of her senior year in high school Mandy joined NCA (National Cheerleaders Association) and has been working for them since 2005, teaching camps and helping run competitions all around the country. For college Mandy attended Oklahoma State University where she got her degree in Health Promotion. She was a cheerleader there for 4 years and captain for 2 of those years. While in college she choreographed for many teams around the state of Oklahoma and worked at a very competitive all star gym. She started working for OC All-Stars in August of 2009. Mandy is our cheer director for both location and part owner of OC All-Stars Anaheim. Mandy is also USASF Certified Levels 1 – 6 in Tosses, Stunts, and Tumbling.

Heather has over 25 years experience as a dancer. She is studio trained in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, pom and tumbling. She has coached and choreographed competitive and recreational dance for over 13 years. She was a member of Long Beach State’s nationally ranked dance team and she has 8 years experience as a dance instructor with the United Spirit Association (USA) in the song/pom program and 5 years as a head instructor. She has taught and performed all over the country including Disneyland’s California Adventures “Block Party Bash” where she was a featured dancer. From OC’s inception in 2003, OC All-Stars dance teams under her direction have brought home over 100 National titles as well as numerous 1st place finishes. They have also won such awards as “Best Choreography”, “Best Costume”, “Overall Highest Score”, and the coveted “Dance Program Award” given to the highest scoring dance program. OC’s dance teams have been given a partially paid bid to attend the Dance Worlds in Orlando, Florida for the past 3 years where they have made it to Finals and placed in the top 5 each year. Heather has also helped coordinate half time shows for the Pro Bowl in Hawaii, the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Clippers. She graduated from Long Beach State with a BA in Communications and a minor in Dance. As well as having founded OC with her husband, John, she is also the proud mommy of her 3 children Nathan, Brandon & Ashley.

John started his cheerleading career as a high school cheerleader for two years before cheering at Oregon State University for four years, where he was captain of that team for the last two seasons. After graduating from Oregon State in 1996 he became an instructor for the United Spirit Association (USA) for ten years. Six of those years he was a head instructor teaching high school and college camps all across the West Coast from Washington, Oregon, California, Utah and Nevada. John was a high school French and Spanish teacher from 1997-2001 at Jesuit High School in Portland, Oregon where he coached the high school cheerleading team. He also coached pole vault for the track team as well as Football for the last season. During this time he started the first of two all star gyms as well as was a member of the Portland Trail Blazers stunt team. While in Oregon, John choreographed high school and colleges around the Pacific Northwest while judging local and National high school and collegiate cheer competitions.
In 2001, John moved to Southern California and began coaching locally while still teaching summer camps for USA and was a member of the Los Angeles Clippers stunt team. In the spring of 2003, John and his wife, Heather, co-founded OC All Stars Cheer and Dance. Since then, John has become the sole owner of OC All Stars. While coaching teams at OC John also teaches many tumbling classes for all levels and ages. John also judges nationally and speaks at cheerleading conferences across the country.
John is USASF Certified Levels 1 – 5 in Tosses, Stunts, Tumbling.

Our Directors
Danielle has been cheering since the age of 5. She started at Canyon Hills Pop Warner and then came to All Stars in 2007. She also competes on OC’s All girl level 6 team, Neon. Along with cheering, Danielle played volleyball to the college level. She has been in and out of coaching cheer and volleyball since 2009. She has found her way back to coaching All-Star and is going on her 3rd season. Along with coaching teams she enjoys coaching tumbling and prep classes. She also coaches at Canyon High School, where she is the head cheer coach. Danielle is also finishing up her degree in Child Development.

DJ was born and raised in Orange County California. He has played almost every sport through high school, anywhere from football to track and field, until he found his true passion of cheerleading. He then began cheering at his high school and at an all-star gym. In college he cheered at Orange Coast College (occ) where he won two national championships at NCA and USA. He was also captain of the OCC cheer team for two years. DJ also works for United Spirit Association (USA). He has been an instructor since 2012. He helps to choreograph their spring material and is apart of the USA street team. DJ now coaches Century High School, where he is the varsity coach. Along with coaching at OC All-Stars he also continues to keep his skills by competing on the level 6 team, Shadow.

Brittany is originally from Paso Robles, CA and moved down to Orange County for college in 2009. She has been involved in cheerleading since 2004, after deciding to make the switch from competitive gymnastics to cheerleading. Since then, she has been involved in both all-star and college cheerleading. She was also a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Clippers for one season during college. One of her biggest cheerleading accomplishments was winning NCA College Nationals with Orange Coast College in 2012.
Brittany began coaching recreational and competitive gymnastics in 2006 and then began coaching cheerleading in 2008. In 2011, she also began working for the cheerleading company NCA (National Cheerleader’s Association) where she is a head instructor for high school camps throughout California and helps develop the curriculum taught at camps nationwide. Brittany attended college at Orange Coast College and Long Beach State University. In December 2012 she received her degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science. Brittany has been with OC since August 2012 and is also the Pep Squad Head Coach and Varsity Cheer Coach at Jserra Catholic High School. Brittany is also USASF Certified Levels 1 – 5 in Tosses, Stunts, and Tumbling.

Cheer & Tumbling Staff
Brandon Pizarro started cheering as a senior in high school. That same year he joined the all-star gym his high school team practiced at. He continued to cheer for teams such as South Jersey Storm, Maryland Twisters and later Spirit Explosion before moving to Texas in 2013 to attend Navarro college. While at Navarro he cheered with Cheer Athletics Wildcats for 2 years where he won 1st and 2nd place at worlds and two college national championships. He then attended Sam Houston state and won another college championship. Brandon has been a tumbling coach for about 10 years and been coed stunting for 7 years . His birthday is February 2nd and he LOVES any candy that is sour! He’s still surprised he has his teeth. Brandon has worked at Cheer Athletics Austin and Woodlands Elite in Tx before moving to California and working for OC All-Stars!

Crystal has been cheering since she was 7 years old. She has coached cheerleading and gymnastics for the past 12 years throughout South Orange County. Crystal is the Head Coach for the St Mary’s School cheer team. She is also a member of the All Girl level 6 team, Neon. In her free time Crystal is a full time Registered Nurse.
Sypen started his cheer career sophomore year at Westminster high School, being the very first male cheerleader, and continued in college and all star. He was presented one of the biggest and most prestigious awards, the “Leo Award” for his strong leadership skills. The staff noticed his dedication and commitment to the sport, so they gladly asked him to coach the team right after he graduated. He has helped build the stamina and talent at the school as well as the spirit and skills. Not only has he been a competitive cheerleader, Sypen was also a competitive dancer competing and placing top 3 at very big competitions, such as World of Dance. He continues to share his knowledge and love for cheerleading as a staff member for U.S. Spiritleaders, teaching camps and helping with competitions when needed. Sypen continues to strive to be the best he could possibly be by pushing his limits on OC All-Stars level 7 team Shadow. He is a strong influencer and constantly urges and guides young athletes to become a better version of themselves.
Vicky grew up playing multiple sports including track and field, gymnastics and basketball. She was a two-time Moore League champion for gymnastics. Vicky started cheerleading when she was 9 years old and began her all-star cheer career in 2013 at Stealth All-Stars on an international level 5 team. She later transitioned to OC All-Stars where she started as a member of the international level 5 team and then began cheering on Shadow, the international large coed level 7 team. Outside of OC All-Stars, Vicky coaches at a high school and is also an instructor at the cheerleading company, USA.

Nelson has been involved in the cheerleading industry for over 20 years. He spent his early years working for the United Spirit Association teaching camps, developing camp program material, and coordinating events such as halftime shows for the NFL, MLS, Women’s World Cup Soccer and the Millennial New Year’s Day Parade in Paris, France.
Nelson began his All-Star coaching career back in 2000 by helping open the first ever cheer gym in San Jose, CA. There he led his Large Coed Team to the USASF Worlds competition on a paid bid two years in a row along with building and developing a very successful All-Star program. Upon moving down to Orange County he coached the first team in Orange County to go to Worlds on a paid bid, doing it for two straight years, while also helping OC All-Stars triple in size.
Along with his work with All-Star teams, Nelson currently coaches several local High Schools including Valencia High School and Canyon High School. He continues to work with Monta Vista High School, a high school in Northern California, once a month. Along with coaching teams, Nelson also teaches in the Academy Tumbling program and teaches tumbling to several High Schools at the OC All-Stars Anaheim location. Nelson is USASF Certified Levels 1 – 5 in Tosses, Stunts, and Tumbling and is CPR, First Aid and AED Certified.
Beside coaching Nelson is very involved behind the scenes at OC. From website, to media, to graphic design, and so much more, Nelson is involved in many aspects of OC All-Stars Cheer and Dance.

Shane grew up in Palmdale, CA where he played baseball and football the majority of his life. He was introduced to cheerleading at 16 years old at a small gym named AV Dynasty All-Stars. Shane came to OC All-Stars in 2013 and cheered on our worlds team, Black, where his cheerleading passion finally peaked. He started coaching at OC in 2014 and also cheers on our International open level 6 team, Shadow. He is also a student and cheerleader at Orange Coast College. Shane’s passion for cheer has only grown being at OC and loves every second of being here. He has gained a lot of lifetime friends being at OC and he looks forward to many more years here!

Amy has been apart of OC All-Stars ever since it opened. She has competed on various levels, going all the way up to Senior Level 5 and was most recently a member of Black. Amy is now apart of our coed level 6 team. Amy is currently studying at Saddleback College and plans to major in nutrition. She has been coaching at OC since 2012 and she loves it! Amy loves to teach tumbling, stunts and doing her own choreography.

Ali has been involved in cheerleading since 2001. She began her coaching career as a gymnastics instructor and cheer coach in 2002, and taught recreational and team gymnasts for 4 years before completely switching over to cheerleading. She has competed on advanced level All Star, High School and College teams since then and has competed four times at the USASF Cheerleading Worlds, most recently with OC’s All Girl Open team which took 4th place at the 2011 Cheerleading Worlds. Ali has also worked and judged for JAMZ and NCA cheerleading companies. Before cheerleading, Ali spent 10 years in competitive gymnastics having spent her last year training level 8. Ali has been with OC since 2008 and is also USASF Certified Levels 1 – 6 in Tosses, Stunts, and Tumbling.
