Nelson de Dios
Nelson has been involved in the cheerleading industry for over 20 years. He spent his early years working for the United Spirit Association teaching camps, developing camp program material, and coordinating events such as halftime shows for the NFL, MLS, Women’s World Cup Soccer and the Millennial New Year’s Day Parade in Paris, France.
Nelson began his All-Star coaching career back in 2000 by helping open the first ever cheer gym in San Jose, CA. There he led his Large Coed Team to the USASF Worlds competition on a paid bid two years in a row along with building and developing a very successful All-Star program. Upon moving down to Orange County he coached the first team in Orange County to go to Worlds on a paid bid, doing it for two straight years, while also helping OC All-Stars triple in size.
Along with his work with All-Star teams, Nelson currently coaches several local High Schools including Valencia High School and Canyon High School. He continues to work with Monta Vista High School, a high school in Northern California, once a month. Along with coaching teams, Nelson also teaches in the Academy Tumbling program and teaches tumbling to several High Schools at the OC All-Stars Anaheim location. Nelson is USASF Certified Levels 1 – 5 in Tosses, Stunts, and Tumbling and is CPR, First Aid and AED Certified.
Beside coaching Nelson is very involved behind the scenes at OC. From website, to media, to graphic design, and so much more, Nelson is involved in many aspects of OC All-Stars Cheer and Dance.
